How To Get Back Links
Building backlinks is about building relationships with other bloggers or website owners, you don’t need any special skills or tools to be able to do it. What you do need is patient and time.
When contacting someone about linking to your site make the effort to find out their name, starting an email with ‘Hi Webmaster’ is a sure way of it going straight into the trash bin. Make the communication as personal as possible reference the name of their company in your email as this shows the person you are contacting you have bothered to looked into their business.
When emailing avoid mentioning ‘link’ or ‘backlink’ in the subject field, again this is rather off putting. Leave out any SEO terminology, like rankings, algorithms, dofollow/nofollow, etc at this stage.
When asking for a back link try and get as many different internal pages as well as your homepage and use a variety of anchor text for the link. Make a suggestion on how you would like to see the link, but also give them the option to decide themselves how to best link back to your website
The more easy it is to acquire a back link then generally speaking it will be of less value, the harder you have to work to obtain the link the higher quality it will be.
If you have 10 trustworthy, quality, authoritative links from relevant websites and a competitor has 100’s of spam backlinks then the ten quality links will be more beneficial to your rankings. So basically it’s not a numbers game it is quality over quantity.
Finally getting good quality backlinks is much easier if the content on your website is worthy of being linked to.
